How to reduce my carbon footprint
Excessive emissions of greenhouse gasses have caused various issues, such as long-lasting heatwaves in India, heavy floods in China, and more frequent hurricanes in North America. Every one of us should work to solve this problem by cutting the carbon footprint, and here are the ways:
First, I can buy foods that are produced locally. Long-distance transportation of foods emits a large amount of carbon dioxide, so it should always be avoided. Second, I will eat less red meat. Livestock such as pigs and cattle produce methane because of their natural digestive process, so if we all eat less red meat, farmers will raise less livestock, thus cutting the emission. Last, instead of driving my private car, I will take buses and subways to commute. In the future, if a car is absolutely in need, I will change the petrol car to a hybrid or electric car. In today’s society, we are free to do anything we want provided we comply with the laws and regulations, but cutting the carbon footprint is our social responsibility. If every one of us does our bit, the world can become a better place.

How Chinese people celebrate the Dragon Boat Festival
Dragon Boat Festival is a well-known traditional festival in China. In various ways, people celebrate it on the 5th day in May on the lunar calendar. As the name suggests, usually people will participate in or watch a dragon boat race on that day. According to the legend, the competition was inspired by the dragon boats used by valiant people to rescue Qu Yuan the poet from the Miluo River. Another popular way to celebrate the festival is to eat Zongzi, a type of glutinous rice dumplings. People make these dumplings by themselves at home, or they can buy them from food stores. Last but not least, people will hang bunches of mugwort and calamus on their doors. They are not merely decorations but have actual functions. The fifth month is a season in which various insects and pests breed. However, they dislike the smell of traditional herbs like mugwort and calamus. Therefore, people hang them outside to repel the insects and pests to prevent epidemics. Dragon Boat Festival has been around for 2000 years. We should always remember these traditions because they are a part of our culture and our national identity.

How to reduce my carbon footprint
Nowadays, greenhouse effect arose serious problems around the world. The glacier melts and the sea level rises. The climate zone shifts to north and the tundra and some animal species will no longer exist. The evaporation increases and rain increases, causing drought and flood. Thus, we need to restrain the emission of greenhouse gases and reduce our carbon footprint. Here is what I will do:
First, I will cut my use of electric appliances such as air conditioners and electric heaters. These electronics create lots of CO2 so I need to avoid use them. Second, there will be lots of carbon emission produced if we travel by private cars. As a result, I will choose to take subway or bus or using bicycles to commute. Third, I will choose to buy clothes made by eco-friendly fabrics, not synthesis fabrics and try to wash clothes by hands instead of using washing machine. Last but not least, I will install a solar panel to boil water instead of using electric heaters. We can release less carbon footprint if we use cleaner energy.

How I successfully broke a bad habit
I used to stay up late in the night back then. But I managed to broke that bad habit successfully. Here is how I did it: Firstly, I would do a large amount of sports during the day to make sure I would be tired in the night such as soccer or swimming. Then, I would set a clock alarm to inform myself when to go to sleep. Usually I set it at 10 o'clock. And when the alarm worked, I put down all the things I was working on and began get ready for sleep. If I didn't put my things away, my mom or dad would hasten me and I would do 100 push ups in the following day. Next, I collected all the phones and electronics and put them away from bed to keep myself from toching them before going to sleep. And I chose a book instead and put it beside the pillow. Subsequently , I brushed my teeth and listened to soft music for about 10 mins. Finally, I read books for 10 mins and going to sleep successfully.
